Reality Check Gym ("the app") is a workout tracker. We built it to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app stores and what happens if you choose to back up your data.
The short version
- The app works fully offline. Your workouts live on your device.
- We show no ads and use no third-party advertising or tracking.
- We never sell your data.
- Backup and sync are optional. You turn them on only if you want them.
Data stored on your device
When you use the app, it saves your workout data on your phone: your programs, exercises, logged sets (reps, weight, RPE), body-weight logs, and your settings. This stays on your device and is not sent anywhere unless you turn on Backup and Sync.
Optional account, backup, and sync
If you choose to back up your workouts, you sign in with your email address. We email you a one-time code, so there is no password to create or remember. When signed in, your workout data and your email are stored on our backend so you can sync across your devices and restore after a lost phone.
We use Supabase as our backend (authentication, database, and storage). Your synced data is stored there on our behalf. See Supabase's privacy terms at https://supabase.com/privacy.
We use this data only to provide backup and sync. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not share or sell it.
Notifications
The app can send you a local rest-timer reminder so you know when a rest period ends. These are scheduled on your device. You can turn them off in your system settings.
Deleting your account and data
You are in control. In the app, go to Settings, then Backup and Sync, then Delete account. This permanently deletes your account and all of your synced data from our backend. Workout data on your device can be removed by deleting the app. You can also email us and we will delete your account for you.
Data retention
Synced data is kept until you delete your account, after which it is removed from our backend.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
